yard --help

Everything a flag needs. Nothing it doesn't.

Spoke is a CLI, four SDKs, and a sync step. Here is what each part does.

The CLI

Every action is a command you can script.

  1. [ 0.001 ]yard new

Creates a flag file with an owner, a default, and an expiry date, and can open the pull request for you.

  2. [ 0.002 ]yard flip

Sets a flag to on, off, or a percentage in one environment. Add --reason and it lands in the audit log.

  3. [ 0.003 ]yard diff

Shows what differs between two environments, so staging and production never drift unnoticed.

The SDKs

Fast at runtime, quiet when things go wrong.

  1. [ 0.001 ]Evaluated locally

Flags are evaluated in your process from a cached snapshot. No network call sits in your request path.

  2. [ 0.002 ]Safe defaults

If the snapshot cannot refresh, the SDK keeps the last good state, then the default in the flag file.

  3. [ 0.003 ]Typed flags

The TypeScript SDK generates types from your flag files, so a typo in a flag name fails the build.

Details

How it behaves.

Your app keeps serving. The SDK caches the last known state of every flag and falls back to the default written in the flag file. No outage of ours becomes an outage of yours.

Start

Ship it dark today. Flip it on when you're ready.

Install the CLI, add your first flag, and open a pull request. It takes about five minutes.
